"Paikea and the Whale"

W.A.L.T visualise to help me keep track and retell what I have read.

Hi guys, This day we are cleaning our draft, sobtoday I am a going to tell you about the "Paikea and the Whale".

Here is the story about the "Paikea and the Whale".

There is this chief named Uenuku, who had seventy-one sons. Seventy of these sons were chiefs,
for their mothers were of noble birth. But Unuku had one wife who was a  slave, and because of
this, her son Ruatapu was of no importance. One day Uenuku decided to build a great canoe.
A tall tree was cut down and his men worked at hollowing, smoothing and carving it. When it was
finished it was painted red and hung with strings of feathers. One day, when the canoe was done
Uenuku called all of his sons and combed their hair and tie their hair except Ruatapu.

Thank you guys for reading this, hope you enjoy this bye!.
