Parts of a Plant

 Hello Readers,

Welcome back to my blog and today I'm going to be talking about the Parts of the Plants!

For Topic this term, we have been learning about Biodiversity. As a part of Biodiversity, we have been learning the foes (pests) in the plants and the friends in the plants. What I mean by that is, that some insects you find in the plants are helpful because they can help the plants grow, like the bees they are helpful because they pollenate the flowers so that the flowers can turn into fruits. We also learnt about some insects that can be pests. 

Today we learnt the parts of a plants. The roots helps absorb water which keep is healthy and strong. The Stem abosrbs minerals and water for the leaves to grow. The leaves are ther to help grow fruits by photosyntheisis. And the flowers gets pollinatated by the bees and they will turn to fruits.

Insect Symmetry!

Welcome back to my blog and today I'll be sharing our learning for art.

We have started to learn things about Insect Symmetry. Insect Symmetry is when a Insect has the same patterns. We chose a Insect to draw and we drew patterns in the Insects. We folded the paper in half and drew half of the Insect, then we put it in the window to trace it in the other half. I did a Scorpion because I want to improve my skills in Insects.

Dragon Days!

In today's post I will be sharing about this years School Production! 

This year, our play is called " Dragon Days ". Everyone in this school have a role to play, most of the juniors will be dancing while wearing a nice little costumes that the teachers have prepared. Some of the seniors have main roles. I am in the show and I will be one of the Cheerleaders. I have made a poster about the play, it tells you when and what time. If you can't come in the Matinee, there is another one in the Evening.

We are learning about Media in Cybersmart. We looked at some advertisement and some of them were funny. After we watched some of the advertisements, we told each other what was the purpose of it. Our task is to create our own advertise about our school. I was with Mya,Talia and Kylie. We videoed some parts of the school. We used Wevideo, we used some of the clips that we wanted and edit it.

Tom Gates: A Tiny Bit Lucky

Namaste Readers, 

Today I'm going to tell you what I have been reading in school during our Silent Reading!

It's called.....Tom Gates: A Tiny Bit Lucky! I chose to read this book because it's so interesting and it's like an adventure book. The story is about a boy named Tom and about  his life. It's talking about his audition with his friends. And also he has a sister named Delia, she is also auditioning for the Rockwekly Bandbattle! Delia is an annoying, rude and quiet character. This book is also a series like the ' Diary of the Wimpy Kid ' This book also has a site! The site shows you all the series of the Tom Gates Book! 

I like this book because the pages has some cool font and some cool drawings in it! It also excites your feelings and makes you want to read it! And also how you can tell the character's feeling in the story. I totally recommend this book for you to read! When I finish this book, I'll read the other ones too! By the way, the author is..... Liz Pichon!!! The newest book is called " Tom Gates: Spectacular School Trip (Really...) ' I wonder what the story is about in that book!

Pink Clouds

Welcome back to my blog post and today I'll be telling you about the Pink Clouds that I saw last week! 

Last week while we were eating dinner, my Dad told me that the clouds were Pink so I checked it out! I took my phone and took some pictures of the Pink Clouds! The next morning, when I woke up, I saw the Clouds were Pink again but this time it was with the sun.

Going To Wellington!

Hello Everyone!

Today I am going to tell you about my amazing holidays!

On the first week my Mum and I just stayed at home and had a rest. On the second week on Tuesday, we woke up early and got ready quickly because we were going to the Airport because we were going to Wellington, and it was our first time going to Wellington. 


We were going to Wellington because we wanted a family holiday on Wellington! When we were in the airplane, I felt dizzy because I never went to a plane for a long time and there was a turbulence. We had small candy, a cup of water and a cookie. We saw the beautiful nature like mountains with snow, the beautiful beaches and the fluffy clouds!

Birthday Party!

Hi Reader's,

I hope everyone has a good weekend. For me,I have a great weekend indeed!

It was my 10th birthday celebration last Saturday. I was very happy and delighted for having a loving and caring parents.

They arrange and prepare a birthday party for me. My dad prepare the decorations and table set up. I help him to make a balloons and put some paper decorations.

My mum is in charge in the kitchen. She prepare and cook delicious meal for our friends. She cook macaroni pasta,roast lamb and most of Filipino dishes!Our friend from Timaru also brought some food like the Filipino style noodles,we called it "palabok".

My parents also has a big surprise for me,it's the wonder woman cake! At 4pm,the visitor starts coming to our house and celebrate with us my birthday!It's an amazing day.

Hello Hornby!

Hello Hornby!

Hornby primary school joined the Hello Hornby last Saturday. It was a community event. A lot of activities at Wycola Park.

It’s just nearby our house,so my family and I just walk to the event.

Our school choir performed at the event. I am part of the choir.

We sang 3 songs, namely: Te Aroha,Million Dreams and Hallelujah.

All the kids are awesome thanks for Ms.D for always guiding and teaching us to perform.

After the performance, we enjoy all the activities at the park. We play the archery, my Dad teach me how to play it. I am not that good for that game but at least I tried. My brother also enjoy riding the car race with my Mum. When we are hungry,we get some sausage sizzle which is free from the event. I ate 2 pieces of it!It’s very hot and yummy sausages.

It’s indeed a good event. Thanks for Hornby Community for arranging such a fun activity for the family!
