Day 5, Activity 1 ( Week 2 )

Hi Readers,

Today, I will share with you about the rules about over fishing. The rule is stop fishing and to fine $100,000 once caught  on that restricted areas.

For me, this rule is good to protect our environment especially the fishes in the sea or our rivers. It’s good to know that our government is making rules to help protect our place. If the people is using the fish for commercial purpose I think the $100,000 fine is fair enough. But if it’s for personal use like some food to eat I think the fine should be lower. But still need to monitor how many kilograms they will get.

Happy Reading!

  1. Hi again Celine,

Thank you for sharing your opinion on whether you think it is fair to charge people with fishing or not. I agree with you that people should take this as an official warning not to fish in prohibited areas and use it for commercial purposes. What do you think about the price of this fine being $100,000? I personally think this is way too much money.

Maybe lowering the fine to $50,000 (half price) or even $70,000 would still have its effects. What are your thoughts? Do you think fishing should still be allowed to those people who are willing to use it for personal reasons (such as eating)? If not, how much should the fine be?

Keep up the blogging! We still have two more days to go until the SLJ programme comes to an end. You're doing great.

    From Susie :)

    1. Hi Susie,

I think the $100,000 fine is very big money, your correct maybe half of it will be okay. For those people fishing just for eating, I think 2 kilograms will be enough for a week?
