Namaste readers,
Welcome back to a SLJ blog post!
* Quick Update: As you can see from the title, I'm on Day 2, Activity 1 on SLJ! *
Today's task I'm going to tell you 3 things about Jean Batten, 3 things about Amelia Earhart and 3 things that is similar to both of their stories. If you don't know who Jean Batten and Amelia Earhart, Amelia Earhart is a pilot who flew all the way to Canada to Northen Ireland without stopping. She was all by herself that time. If you also don't know who Jean Batten is, she was the first person to fly on a solo trip to England to New Zealand.
Here is the information about them:
Question for the day:
1: Do you know them?
2: Can you tell me 1 fact about them?
Thank you for reading this blog post and have a great day!
Hey Celine!
ReplyDeleteMy names Natasha. I'm from Hornby High School and I'm going to be commenting on some of your Summer Learning Journey blog posts throughout the holidays :)
Firstly I like how you explained your activity and gave a sort of synopsis about Amelia Earhart and Jean Batten at the start of your post. It was very helpful for someone like myself who isn't overly educated on the topic!
Secondly, your information was wonderful - it was very precise, well done. If you wanted to make your post even more engaging, you could include a photo of Amelia or Jean. If you were to do so, please remember to give credit to the source you got your photos from!
To answer your questions, I knew of them, but not a lot about them. I do know one fact about Amelia Earheart though - during World War I, she became a nurse aid, helping soldiers who got hurt in action.
Who do you think made the biggest accomplishment, Amelia or Jean?
Well done on an amazingly informative and well written blog post Celine! I can't wait to see more of your work. Have a good night and enjoy your holidays :)

Kamusta Natasha!
DeleteThank you for commenting on my blog, thank you also for giving me feedback.
I didn't know that Amelia Earhart was a nurse aid! I think Amelia Earhart made the biggest accomplishment because she was trying to fly around the world but unfortunately, she disappeared near Howland Island, about halfway between Australia and Hawaii. She was never found.
They could never find her anymore!
I hope to see a reply!
Kind Regards,
Celine
Hey Celine!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry it's taken so long to reply - Gmail doesn't notify me when I get replies from comments!
That's quite strange that she went missing without a trace. I agree - flying halfway around the World is quite a challenge!
Have an awesome day :)
